Inmate convicted in Georgetown Cty escapes

An inmate at minimum-security Coastal Pre-Release Center in Charleston walked away from the facility Monday night.

The S.C. Department of Corrections is looking for 22-year-old Evan Lamar Gamble, who was confirmed missing from the center about 7:50 p.m.

Gamble stands 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs about 145 pounds, and has black hair; and brown eyes.

Between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., anyone with information is asked to call Corrections' Fugitive Apprehension Unit at 1-877-349-2130.

After 5 p.m., call (803) 896-2258, the S.C. Law Enforcement Division at (803) 737-9000, or contact local law enforcement.

Gamble started serving a two year sentence for shoplifting on September 1, 2009. He was convicted in Georgetown County.
