Coastal Carolina University became the latest to join the March of Dimes' March for Babies fundraising campaign.
CCU kicked off its campaign Thursday at Brooks Stadium.
March for Babies raises money to help prevent premature births.
The wife of University President David Decenzo says the CCU community is proud to help out. "South Carolina, in particular, has the highest premature birth rate. So, I feel that we need to be committed to assisting our own local area and addressing this problem. It's a serious problem," Terri DeCenzo told NewsChannel 15.
This is the fifth year for March for Babies at Coastal Carolina.
