NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. (AP) -- A 20-year-old South Carolina man has been given probation for killing his brother in an accidental shooting.
The Aiken Standard reports Antonio Middleton pleaded guilty Wednesday to manslaughter. He was given a possible five-year prison sentence, but it was suspended as long as he completes 18 months of probation.
Authorities told that the death happened when Middleton and his brother were playing a game similar to Russian Roulette in a North Augusta home last October.
Prosecutors say Middleton saw a bullet was in the chamber before pulling the trigger and was trying to safely let down the gun's hammer when it fired, the bullet hitting Middleton's brother in the chest.
He died at the scene.
