Governor Mark Sanford hasn't been giving many one on one interviews these days, but this week he agreed to talk to NewsChannel 15's Tim McGinnis for an exclusive interview that will air Sunday morning on Carolina This Week.

The governor spoke about his recent state of the state address, and a proposal he made then to combine the Governor and Lt. Governor on the same ticket in future elections.

He said, "It would be the equivalant of electing a president who wants to go in this direction, and a vice-president who wants to go in this direction. People would say, that is a crazy system, and that's what we have in South Carolina."

The governor also spoke of his June admission to having an affair with a woman in Argentina. He said he believes his actions as governor will ultimately be what he will be remembered for, though the June admission will be something he will never forget. Governor Sanford says, "I never made a big mistake before and there are obviously consequences I'll deal with over my life on that front."

You can watch the entire interview with Governor Sanford on Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. on NewsChannel 15 on Carolina This Week with Tim McGinnis.
