If you get a new computer for Christmas, there's any easy way to recycle the old one.

Goodwill Industries has joined with Dell Reconnect Partnership to give you a way to recycle your computer for free.

For any computer you bring to a Goodwill store, you'll get a tax deductible receipt regardless of the brand or condition of the equipment.

People who recycle are responsible for removing all personal data prior to donation.

The website www.techsoup.org (put hyperlink here) recommends you use a disk-cleaning software to clear you computer of personal information.

But before you do that, you should also clear your internet browser's cache, cookies, and history.

Make sure to delete all email contacts and messages.

Also, delete documents, your recycle or trash folder, and all nontransferable software.
