United States Attorney W. Walter Wilkins stated Friday that Jeffrey Allen Miles, age 51, of Conway, South Carolina, was sentenced to 140 months in federal prison for mailing child pornography.

Miles was identified by federal agents as having visited child pornography websites. As part of a sting, U.S. Postal Inspectors sent Miles an advertisement for a fictitious company offering child pornography for sale. Miles responded, mailing money for purchases, letters in which he graphically described the type of child pornography he wanted to purchase, and actual pictures of child pornography as examples.

The Postal Inspectors made a controlled delivery of child pornography to Miles' residence with the aid of the Horry County Sheriff's Office.

After making the delivery, they executed a search warrant and seized Miles' computer, which was found to contain images of child pornography.

The case was investigated by agents of the Horry County Sheriff's Office and the United States Postal Inspection Service. Assistant United States Attorney William E. Day, II, of the Florence office handled the case.
