Visitation restrictions at Southeastern Regional Medical Center

Due to a recent decrease in the incidents of reported influenza cases at Southeastern Regional Medical Center, visitation restrictions have been revised effective immediately:

  • No one under the age of 18 will be permitted in patient care areas or in areas above the first floor.
  • Any pastor/clergy with a badge will be allowed to visit patients at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. If a pastor does not have a badge, please refer them to Pastoral Care Services (671-5031 or internal ext. 5031).
  • Two immediate family members (over the age of 18) will be allowed per visit.
  • Immediate family members are now defined as: spouse, parent, grandparent, child, grandchild, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law and son-in-law. Step family members are also included.

The emergency department will follow the same visitation guidelines with the exception of allowing only one immediate family member per visit.

Any individual with flu-like symptoms, including muscle aches, fever, headache, sore throat, coughing or vomiting, is asked not to visit patients at Southeastern Regional Medical Center until they have been symptom-free for 24 hours.

All visitors are reminded to wash hands before entering a patient room or interacting with a patient.

Please note that general visiting hours are from 6 am to 9 pm.

If friends or loved ones wish to contact individuals while a patient at Southeastern Regional Medical Center, they are encouraged to call or send cards, letters or electronic cards.

Most patients can be reached by calling 671-5000 and asking for the patient by name. Please be aware of patients' need to rest by limiting phone calls during evening hours.

Letters can be addressed to SRMC, Patient Name, Room Number, PO Box 1408. Lumberton, NC 28359.

Electronic cards can be sent via Southeastern's website at http://www.srmc.org/sendecard.aspx. Every effort will be made to deliver the electronic card in a timely manner.
