A new festival will be coming to the Grand Strand next May and if you want to be a part of it, bring your appetite.
The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce leaders announced plans for Coastal Uncorked, a food and wine festival to be held May 13th through the 16th.
Organizers say they want to showcase the area's restaurants through events like a chef's competition, beer and wine tasting and a cake decorating contest.
They say the chamber's research shows a food festival would have a lot of potential to attract tourists.
"It is a weeklong event, not just isolated on one weekend. It covers the entire Grand Strand and it's something that almost everyone loves to do," said Ryan Swaim, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, Marketing Council.
Swaim says the chamber wants to be a rebuilding team for the month of May, regardless of how the controversy over the May motorcycle events is resolved.
