A Florence County man charged in connection with the murders of a Florence couple will likely sit in jail until his case goes to trial. Monday afternoon, a judge denied bond for Fonnelze Delaine as more serious charges could be filed against him.
In court Monday, Solicitor Ed Clements told the judge there is additional evidence that further incriminates Delaine, who is charged with accessory before the fact of murder in the deaths of Billy Hall, Junior and Talya Poston.
Delaine's two attorneys downplayed his involvement in the murders and asked the judge to set a reasonable bond.
Clements argued this investigation is on-going and they're still gathering evidence. He says they have phone records and a taped statement from one of Delaine's co-defendants that Delaine solicited the killings because one of the victims was going to testify against him in a drug trial, where Delaine faced 15 years behind bars.
Three hours after the hearing, the judge issued his order denying bond for Delaine. Debra Ross, Poston's aunt, is relieved.
"This person that is in the courtroom today wanting his freedom he should not get his freedom. If he did what he's alleged that has been alleged to have happened, he never needs to see the outdoors again."
Clements says it's highly possible they will upgrade Delaine's charges to solicitation of murder. If that's the case, the solicitor will seek the death penalty against him.
Last Friday, police served Delaine with three warrants on drug violation, in a separate case.
Delaine's two co-defendants, Montez Barker and Laross Graham, are charged with murder.

(Updated 2:21pm) Bond denied for accessory to murder suspect
Bond has been denied for the Florence county man charged in connection with a double murder.
Fonnelze Delaine is charged with accessory to the murders of Billy Hall, Jr. And his girlfriend Talya Poston in September.
The couple was found shot to death on a dirt road in Florence County.
Police say Montez Barker and Laross Graham killed the couple as part of a conspiracy with Fonnelze Delaine.
Last Friday, Delaine was also charged with 3 drug violations, in connection with a search of his home by the Florence County Sheriff's Office during the murder investigation. On those charges, a magistrate judge set bond for Delaine at $30,000.
