Myrtle Beach voters head back to the polls on November 17th for a runoff election to pick two city council members and a mayor.
Thursday, Mark McBride and Mayor John Rhodes, contenders for mayor, taped separate appearances on Carolina This Week which will air Sunday morning.
The two discuss taxes, bike rallies and casino gambling.
When asked about low voter turnout, and people who voted for other candidates McBride said, "Just please come out and vote. If you want to come out and vote for John Rhodes, fine. 38% turnout really is disappointing, but the people in this country, they don't believe the politicians. I don't believe the politicians are doing what they want them to do. When you put the incumbents back in, what's the use of voting if it ain't going to make a difference?"
Rhodes said, "I'd like for them to consider me as their candidate. I'd like for them to consider me as the person they'd like to lead Myrtle Beach, to continue to lead it, to be the ambassador."
You can watch both interviews in their entirety Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. on Carolina This Week on NewsChannel 15.
