All this week, officials with Florence School District 1 have been holding meetings to update you on their school facility needs.

Right now, the district is using 182 portables at its 21 schools.

Administrators say they need to build five new schools to relieve overcrowding at Carver, Delmae, North Vista and Royal elementary schools, as well as Moore Middle School.

The district's public information officer says the board has approved the concept of a plan, but is still looking at funding.

There is a meeting on this issue Wednesday night at 7:00 at Wilson High School.
