Fall rabies clinics held Saturday on Grand Strand

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control is working with area veterinarians to host rabies clinics throughout the month of October. The first 3 clinics will be held Saturday, October 3rd.

The shots are $ 3.00 per animal.

Here are the Saturday locations:

North Myrtle Beach Animal Hospital of NMB

Noon - 1:00 p.m.

2501 Hwy 17 South

Surfside Beach Ark Animal Hospital

9:30 a.m - Noon

1011 Sixth Ave North Ext.,

Myrtle Beach Grand Strand Animal Hospital

10 a.m. - Noon

Hwy 17 By-Pass at 29th Ave N.,

The South Carolina Rabies Control Act requires that all dogs and cats have a current rabies vaccination. For the majority of vaccines, the minimum age to vaccinate puppies and kittens is three months of age. Upon vaccination, the pet should wear the serially numbered rabies tag, provided by the veterinarian, around its neck. The licensed veterinarian will also provide a certificate of vaccination.

Note: Dogs must be on a leash and cats in a box or carrier.
