Conway unveils new trails

There's one more thing to do outdoors now in Conway.

Saturday afternoon city leaders unveiled new bike routes throughout the historic downtown.

Mayor Alys Lawson cut the ribbon in front of the city marina. That's where the bike routes begin.

A few months ago, the city unveiled a blue trail -- it's equivalent to a bike trail but along the Waccamaw River.

Mayor Lawson says both trails are great ways to promote Conway.

"The city is sitting along the Waccamaw River, and we just realized it is such an attribute that we needed to capitalize on that and promote health, the environment and taking care of the environment because it means so much to everybody," said Mayor Lawson.

Bicyclists will be able to take any of three routes, ranging from 4.3 miles to one for the more adventurous that runs more than 25 miles.
