GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Two people have drowned in separate incidents in South Carolina's Upstate.

Multiple media outlets reported that 40-year-old Laura Perry of Greenville was pronounced dead at a Greer hospital Sunday afternoon.

Greenville County Sheriff's Sgt. Jim McNeely says Perry was found in the deep in of a swimming pool in the subdivision where she and her husband lived.

Karie Cain with the coroner's office says Perry had told her husband she was going for a swim. An autopsy was scheduled Monday.

A Clemson University student drowned in a lake at the school's forest Sunday afternoon.

The Pickens County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 21-year-old Donovan Xavier Jones of Sumter. The coroner's office says Jones was swimming with a group when he went under water.
