Local water sports were on display in Surfside Beach all day Saturday for the first ever Ocean Expo and Guy Daniels Memorial Surfoff.

Folks gathered along the beach to watch surfing, kite boarding, kayaking, sailing.. and much more and it gave local water sports businesses a chance to showcase their offerings.

It's all for a great cause.

"The competition is just really a way to help raise money for the scholarship fund. We give away five scholarships every year -- it helps us raise money for it and it's also the biggest event of the year," said Guy Deaton, a member of the Board of Directors for the Guy Daniels Memorial Foundation.

The event will continue Sunday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, between 13th Avenue South and Melody Lane in Surfside Beach.
