About 60 members of a South Carolina Army National Guard unit were mobilized Friday.

According to The State, the troops are on their way to Kosovo to support a NATO peacekeeping mission.

The troops are members of 2nd battalion, 151st Aviation Regiment and are out of a National Guard Base near Eastover, South Carolina.

On their mission they'll be joined by guardsmen from Kentucky and Virginia.

The South Carolina troops are scheduled to train in Indiana for about two months before they head to Kosovo for nine months.
