Tuesday, Myrtle Beach city council will take a second reading on a vote to raise the sales tax.

Earlier this month, council unanimously passed first reading of a one-cent increase in the city sales tax.

It'll be used to pay for tourism marketing and property tax relief.

If it passes Tuesday, it won't go into effect until August 1st at the earliest.
