In a time when Myrtle Beach is hurting for advertising dollars, the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce looked for some free models Sunday to showcase the Grand Strand.

At the Palace Theatre, the MBACC held a casting call for Horry and Georgetown residents, young and old. Dozens turned out for their shot at "15 minutes of fame."

If they're chosen, the MBACC could use them in their print, TV, and internet ad-campaigns. Tina Pace with the MBACC says the faces chosen will penetrate some key markets.

"If we're going to be in their consideration set, we need to advertise. and once we get into the consideration set we have to sell them. So, it's a full process and the footage we gather from our video shoot is going to help us in that process.
