The snow began falling in Darlington County just after 2 o'clock Tuesday morning. By daylight, the snow painted a beautiful picture across the Pee Dee.
"I'm glad to see it we don't get that much snow down here," said Billy Moore of Darlington County.
The snow covered roof tops, trees, and just about everything it could cling to.
The snow caught Andy Herring of Dillon County by surprise.
"The first thing I thought was I wasn't going to work today," said Herring.
Andy got a break and so did many students across the Pee Dee and they took full advantage of their day off.
"You can play snowball fights," said Justin Herring of Dillon County.
You can also play with your horses. Johnny Miller made sure his stallions were okay, even if the animals refused to go in the barn.
"They don't like to get in it they rather stay out in this weather like this," said Miller.
So does Linda Hill of Florence, "Wow! We finally got snow!"
Linda captured the beauty of the snow on camera, so she could remember it for years to come.
"It is beautiful. The snow is beautiful. We haven't seen snow like this in seven years," said Hill.
Linda and many others in the Pee Dee hope we'll see another snowfall, before the winter is out.
