Every year, they sing a spiritual song, as they begin their one-mile march in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This year, the crowd was a little smaller, but their motivation to march was the same.

Gloria Gregg marched in the rally, "I feel proud rejoice and glad to see all of us out here together."

"I feel great because we're showing that we care about Dr. Martin Luther King," said Marcer Isiah Brown.

Florence City Councilman Ed Robinson began organizing this march several years ago, and has really seen it flourish over time but this year, he says there's a different spirit in the air.

"This is Dr. King, this is a change in America and I think i'm beginning to see equality and justice," said Robinson.

Equality and justice that Robinson said Dr. King fought so hard for and was ultimately killed because of his efforts.

"I'm seeing African-American children growing up with doing his dream alongside with white Americans, Jews, gentiles we're all in this together," said Robinson.

And as they marched side by side together some on-lookers, like Darnell Carter, reflected on Dr. Martin Luther King's message.

"Keeping the dream alive keeping the dream alive," said Carter.

Councilman Robinson believes that dream is still alive, and is being carried out, like never before.
