(AP) -- U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham takes the oath of office in Washington for a second term representing South Carolina.

Graham begins his new term on Tuesday at noon.

He easily defeated little-known challenger Bob Conley with 58 percent of the vote in last November's election.

But Graham has said the election left the Republican Party damaged.

Graham has said the GOP must get back to the basics of fiscal conservatism and find new ways to communicate with younger voters.
