A female from Loris is dead after police say she ran a stop sign around 5 p.m. on Sunday.

South Carolina Highway Patrol tells NewsChannel 15 that the female, whose identity has not yet been released, disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of Secondary 129 and Bud Graham Road, which is about two miles north of Aynor.

Her car was then hit by a pick-up truck.

The driver of the truck, who was wearing his seat belt, was taken to the Conway Hospital, but his condition is not known.

The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. She was also wearing her seat belt.
