Loris High School students got an unexpected break from classes Tuesday, when fire alarms sounded and the school was evacuated.
Smoke was reported in the front office, leading to the 9-1-1 call.
Loris fire officials say the source of the problem was a burned-out fan motor in an air handler unit.
Officials say there was no fire, just some wisps of smoke in the front office portion of the building.
The fan motor was taken care of, and students were allowed back into school to finish their day.
