Less rain, but more heat for your weekend

The forecast will still have a chance for scattered showers and storms for today as a front remains stalled to our north. Slow moving storms will create localized flooding concerns and ponding on the roads. Strong storms with intense lightning will possible along with small hail and strong wind gusts. High pressure over the Atlantic, known as the Bermuda High, will build back toward the East Coast bringing more typical July weather to the forecast. That means a little more heat and humidity, but only a few storms in the afternoon and evening hours. .

Temperatures will start each day in the low/mid 70s and warm quickly into the upper 80s to low 90s though the weekend.

Today: Partly sunny and humid. Scattered storms possible,especially Inland, with heavy rainfall and intense lightning. Highs- Mid/Upper 80s

Tonight: Partly cloudy, mild, and muggy. Few storms possible. Lows: Low/Mid 70s.

Saturday: Partly sunny and humid. Chance for a few storms, mainly in the afternoon. Highs- Grand Strand: Upper 80s, Inland: Low 90s.

Sunday: Partly sunny and humid. Chance for a few storms, mainly in the afternoon. Highs- Grand Strand: Upper 80s, Inland: Low 90s.
