Snow falls in the Pee Dee...Heads Toward Grand Strand

As of 2:30pm, snow was reported as far east as Loris and Aynor. 

The first band of precipitation is moving east and will be rain initially along the Grand Strand then chance to snow between 4pm-5pm. . The back edge of the snow is moving east of I-95 soon and should be off the coast not long after 5pm. 

There will be a lull in snow for a few hours before snow showers over the western Carolinas move through the Pee Dee and Border Belt between 7pm -10pm and along the Grand Strand between 10pm and midnight. 

Because the ground is warm and precipitation initially starts as rain, accumulation will be light.

- Up to a Dusting: Little River, North Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, Garden City, Surfside, Murrells Inlet, Pawleys Island, and Georgetown.

- Around 1" with isolated locations near 2" : Loris, Conway, Florence, Lake City, Marion, Mullins, Lumberton, Dillon, Darlington, Hartsville, and Bennettsville

- Up to 2": Laurinburg, Cheraw, and Rockingham

All precipitation will be over by midnight, but as temperatures plunge below freezing, any water left on the roads may freeze, especially on bridges and overpasses.As the storm system begins to wrap up and pull away, colder air will change rain to snow.
