MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) - Several Grand Strand businesses participated in their 3rd annual Small Business Saturday on November 24.

Small Business Saturday falls between Black Friday and Cyber Monday and is a way to celebrate local businesses that create jobs and boost the economy.

The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce has almost 3,000 local businesses.

Many small businesses are offering shoppers deals to start their holiday shopping.

Myrtle Beach Mayor John Rhodes kicked off Small Business Saturday at The Market Common around noon.

American Express created the retail holiday in 2010.

You can visit www.ShopOurMembers.com for a full list of small businesses participating through the holiday season.
