More than fifty Christmas trees are scattered around Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach for this year's Festival of Trees.

The annual event showcases each of the states in the U.S.

The trees are decorated with unique ornaments that represent each state and the diversity in America.

"Each state, kind of, each has their own couple things that represent them and we like to really bring that out during the holidays. We have a lot of visitors that come down during the holidays, so it kind of brings a little piece of home with them," Jenna Miller with Ripley's Aquarium said.

Each tree has a card listing facts about the state so you can learn something, too, Miller said.

This year's South Carolina tree is 18 feet tall. It's decked out with magnolias, golf balls, sea shell wreaths, and items that represent the South Carolina Gamecocks and Clemson Tigers.

The festival has been an annual tradition at the aquarium since 2001.

It's open through December 31.
