(AP) -- Goose Creek High School will try again to convince the South Carolina High School League that it did nothing wrong in allowing a football player to participate on the team.

The Berkeley County School District will be in Columbia late Monday for a hearing before the league on the player's eligibility.

Goose Creek was disqualified from the playoffs last week for using an ineligible player. But a Circuit Court judge ruled Friday that the team could continue in the playoffs, though the league might affirm the decision banning the team Monday.

Goose Creek defeated Bluffton on Friday night.

School district lawyers on Monday will tell the league the school did nothing wrong and followed proper procedures. The district will contend the player was eligible to play all along.
