Volunteers are trying to brighten the lives of children around the world through Operation Christmas Child.

They are filling shoe boxes with gifts and toiletries at the Sea Coast Vineyard Church in Myrtle Beach collection location.

The nationwide project is headed by Franklin Graham, son of evangelist Billy Graham.

"For children who don't get to have a toothbrush and especially do not know God, it just gives you the best feeling ever," said Alicia Piner with Operation Christmas Child.

The boxes will be delivered to children in 100 countries around the world by any means necessary, including trucks, trains, boats and even elephants.

There are other drop-off locations around our area.
