Voter turnout was high across South Carolina, but it didn't break the record set in 2008 of 76 percent.

Initial reports from precincts indicated voter turnout was likely to be on-par with the record-breaking 2008 General Election, according to a news release from the Election Commission spokesman Chris Whitmire.

Below is a breakdown of voter turnout in the counties in our immediately viewing area:

Horry County 62%

Georgetown 76%

Florence County 70%

Darlington County 72%

Marion County 69%

Marlboro 67%

Dillon County 67%
