A Florence organization is working to keep children from drinking alcohol through a new campaign announced Tuesday.

The Florence County Coalition and Circle Park Behavioral Health Services held a luncheon to discuss the new campaign, that will aim to educate parents on the dangers.

"Many devastating things can happen to young people when they consume alcohol not just the drinking and driving factor. You know there is sexual assaults, violent date rape, property crimes, burns drownings," said Dawn Hancock.

The campaign includes commercials, intensive law enforcement training and education and awareness presentations in the community.
