Police say man pointed out homes he burglarized

Monday, Surfside Beach police arrested Richard Swangler, 45, for burglaries across the town.

A worker at Carolina Pickers Thrift Store called police to report a stolen bicycle. The worker said the suspect pawned the bicycle for $15. Police served a warrant on Swangler for Obtaining Goods Under False Pretences.

He waived his Miranda Rights and rode in a police car, pointing out the homes he burglarized, according to multiple police reports.

Police charged Swangler with multiple counts of Petit Larceny.

Listed are the approximate costs of stolen items police say Swangler admitted to stealing:

$100 - Household goods

$100 - Rocking chairs

$200 - Bicycle
