Testimony in the trial of a woman accused of excessively cheering at her daughter's graduation ended Monday night.

About 9 witnesses took the stand Monday. Closing arguments are Tuesday morning at 11 a.m.

Shannon Cooper is being tried Monday on charges of Disorderly Conduct, after she was arrested in June for excessively cheering as her daughter walked across the stage to get her diploma at the Florence Civic Center.

Police say it was announced before the graduation ceremony that anyone who cheered would be escorted out of the building.

Florence School District One administrators say they even sent letters to parents warning them that they could be arrested for cheering.

Cooper says she wasn't the only parent who cheered.

City prosecutors plan to call five witnesses to testify on the police department's behalf.

Three of the witnesses include Florence School District One administrators.

Cooper's attorney says he will prove that his client did nothing wrong and her cheering didn't disrupt the graduation ceremonies.

We will keep you updated on the verdict.
