LAURINBURG -- An 8-year-old girl was sleeping in her bed on Hickory Street in Laurinburg when a shot was fired into her home and struck her in the arm.

It happened around 1:50 a.m. Friday.

Several shots were fired into the home.

The child was taken to Scotland Memorial Hospital where she was treated and released.

Laurinburg police were also busy with two other shootings.

One happened at 10 p.m. Thursday at Brothers In The Hood on Aberdeen Road. Police say two men wearing disguises waited outside the store for a 37-year-old man. When he walked out, he was shot several times. He is in critical condition.

And at 2 a.m. Friday, police responded to a call of shots fired on Lincoln Street.

Officers found Jonathan Murphy, 22, of Laurinburg, lying in the front yard. He had been shot several times and died.

It is not known if any of the shootings are related, but Laurinburg police want to hear from anyone with information. You can call the Laurinburg Police Department at (910) 276-3211 or Crime Stoppers at (910) 291-3333.
