The 133rd Military Police Company returned to Florence County Sunday morning after a year long tour in Khost Province in Afghanistan.

The company is based out of Timmonsville and deployed 170 soldiers September of last year.

Hundreds of friends and family gathered to welcome home their loved ones.

"It's been hard, it's been a challenge, but we've mad it through," said Amanda Dunn, wife of soldier Jason Dunn.

Not everyone in the company survived the tour. In June, the unit lost three soldiers in a suicide bomb attack.

Five guardsmen were also wounded and are being treated in the United States.

South Carolina National Guard officials say their deaths are the first connected to a South Carolina Guard unit in Afghanistan since October 2010.

"Glad to be home," said soldier Jason Dunn.

He left behind a wife and three daughters, his youngest was five months old.

"We've got to see him through Skype, but she's very excited to actually get to see him," said Amanda.

Dunn's oldest daughters already have plans for him.

"Hug him...to death," said Haylee Dunn.

"Play with him!" added Hannah Dunn.

Amanda says they plan just to hang out at home in Spartanburg and enjoy being together as a family.
