Roads in Litchfield Beach are closed because of flooding.

Georgetown County Emergency Management Director Sam Hodge tells NewsChannel 15 Highway 17/Ocean Highway near Litchfield Country Club and Kings River Road are impassable right now.

We're getting reports that one car was fully submerged along Highway 17 South, but the occupants got out okay.

According to Highway Patrol, Heritage Road is closed, as is Williams Field Road and Highway 17 South past the Piggly Wiggly.

They ask that you avoid that area.
