MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - Two men who helped build the golf industry on the Grand Strand are being inducted into the Myrtle Beach Golf Hall of Fame.
The ceremonies are being held Sunday at the Pine Lakes Country Club in Myrtle Beach.
One of the inductees is J. Egerton Burroughs. He served as chairman of the board of the Burroughs & Chapin Company from 1990 until this year. He helped make the area the internationally known golf destination it is today.
The second inductee is J. Bryan Floyd, who died in 2004. He helped in the development and marketing of golf in North Myrtle Beach. He found Bay Tree Plantation and served on the North Myrtle Beach City Council for 22 years.(Copyright 2012 The Associated Press. All rights reserved.
