School spirit has gone viral thanks to a lip dub video made by the student body at North Myrtle Beach High School.

Digital Arts teacher Leslie Etherson and former Drama teacher Mindy Pinn wanted to captivate the school's diversity and spirit on film. They also put on YouTube for all to see in the version of a lip dub.

In all, Pinn says 1,400 students, plus teachers, administrators, and the school's principal donned yellow and blue and made their own music video to Flo Rida's "Good Feeling" and Taio Cruz's "Dynamite."

"We wanted songs with high energy and positive meaning," Etherson says.

"It was the largest production I directed by far," Pinn says.

The video itself took about a month from mapping out a plan to shooting and editing to posting online. It serves as a lesson too, one of inclusion, the teachers say. Every student, every group was represented. You see wrestlers, cheerleaders, basketball players, science students, math kids, drama students, tennis players, even break dancers.

"We didn't tell them how to dress or what to do they just were themselves, which was even better," Etherson says.

"Every clique was involved," student Carly Skidmore said. She rode up on a horse in the beginning of the six minute video.

After having an awesome summer who doesn't dread coming back to school but, yeah it {the video} makes me want to come back, definitely," she adds.

The main message, principal Trevor Strauwderman says is simple. Have fun.

"Students will very rarely remember any assignments or reports they do in high school but they will remember experiences. And this is something we hope they remember. You can come to school and you can work really hard but you can have fun as well," he says.
