CONWAY, S.C. (WPDE) - Three people were involved in a boat accident on the Waccamaw River in Conway Saturday evening. It happened near a boat landing off West Cox Ferry Road.
Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler says the victim is Brandon Stevens, 23, of the Conway area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Fowler said preliminary results show Stevens died from blunt trauma to the head during the accident. A full toxicology autopsy report will come back within next three to four months.
Lt Robert McCullough with the Department of Natural Resources says two women were injured. Both were taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center for treatment. Their conditions are not known at this time.
DNR is investigating the accident.
