WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - Crews are resuming their search for a 13-year-old Rocky Point boy who went missing while swimming in New Hanover County.
Sheriff's Sgt. Jerry Brewer says authorities suspended their search for the boy at around 8 p.m. Sunday but would get a fresh start on Monday morning.
Authorities say the boy went missing at around 1:40 p.m. Saturday. Brewer says the boy, his parents and a 3-year-old sibling had been swimming just west of the Snow's Cut Bridge when the younger child became distressed.
As the father pulled that child out, Brewer says the older one went into under the water.
