Customers at Carolina Forest flooded orders from noon to 6 p.m. showing their support of Cathy's freedom to state his opinion.
"My message today and the reason we are here is to support a man who is expressing an opinion and that opinion should not result in him being penalized in any way in the business front," said Horry County resident Bob Squatriglia.
Proponents of same-sex marriage have their own protests planned including a "National Same-Sex Kiss Day" to be held at Chick-fil-A restaurants nationwide on Friday.
