Progress Energy says power has been restored to 954 of the 2,725 customers without power in the Olanta community of Florence County.

Officials say a tree fell on a power line on Highway 301 near Red Road causing the outage.

Residents tell us they have been without power since 1 p.m. Monday.

They say the power went out during a storm, which some say dumped nearly three inches of water in their yards.

Power is expected to to be fully restored by 3 p.m. Monday.
