A 59-year-old Sumter County man was killed around 4 p.m. Friday when the truck he was riding in overturned after striking a ditch. Coroner J. Todd Hardee says the victim is Phillip Taylor, Jr.

It happened on Highway 15 in Darlington County.

Highway Patrol says a car slowed in front of the truck and to avoid hitting it, the driver swerved and hit the ditch.

The driver and a juvenile in the car were both treated for minor injuries.
