FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WPDE) - Capt. Mike Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff's Office says one person is dead in a collision between a CSX freight train and an all terrain vehicle.

She is identified as Tanya Clemons, 32.

It happened just before 4 p.m. Sunday at Smallwood Road and Irby Street in Florence. That's near Effingham. Nunn says the ATV collided with the front of the train.

Deputy Coroner Don Reynolds says Clemons was on the ATV with her husband at the time of the crash. His condition has not been released. Reynolds adds it was normal for the couple to ride on the ATV before they both went to work on Sunday's.

The crossing is not guarded.

The incident is under investigation by the Florence County Sheriff's Office, Highway Patrol, and CSX.
