The Palmetto State Rollergirls will raise money for charity at a summer roller derby invitational Saturday.

At "Cruel Summer III," more than 60 women from five states and two other countries will compete.

A portion of the ticket sales from this third annual event will go to the Surfrider Foundation.

It will be held at Fun Warehouse, 2349 Dick Pond Road between Surfside Beach and Socastee. Doors open at 3 p.m. The first bout will be a "fresh meat" competition at 4 p.m. A full hour-long veterans bout will be held afterward.

Tickets are $12 for ages 11 and older and $6 for ages 10 and younger.
