The American Red Cross and Florence County Emergency Management opened a shelter at Wilson High School for those still without power because of Sunday's storms.
Seven people showed up to the shelter Monday.
Shelter volunteers say two older women stayed overnight because their homes still didn't have power. They left the shelter just after 10 a.m. Tuesday to see if power had been restored to their homes.
The Pee Dee Chapter of the American Red Cross provided cots, food and water.
It says they didn't set up the shelter until late yesterday because they didn't find out how many people were still without power until late afternoon and it takes time to set up the shelter.
So far, no one has been there Tuesday.
The shelter will be open until 4 p.m.
