Friday, the State Election Commission ordered a recount of the votes from Tuesday's primary for State Senate District 32.

Just 82 votes separated incumbent Yancey McGill from challenger Cezar McKnight out of more than 12,000 votes cast.

Recounts are mandated when there is less than a one percent difference in the total votes cast between two candidates for one office.

The recount will be done at 9 a.m. Monday, according to State Election Commission Spokesman Chris Whitmire.

Friday, the Election Commission also officially ordered the runoff be held on the Republican side of the 7th Congressional District race between Andre Bauer and Tom Rice. The runoff will be on Tuesday, June 26.

The Commission did not order a runoff on the Democratic side between Gloria Bromell Tinubu and Preston Brittain, declaring Tinubu the official winner of Tuesday's primary.
