The State Election Commission plans to certify results for State Senate District 32 Friday. If a recount is needed, which looks likely, that will be done 9 a.m. Monday, according to State Election Commission Spokesman Chris Whitmire.

Just 82 votes separated incumbent Yancey McGill from challeneger Cezar McKnight out of more than 12,000 votes cast.

Recounts are mandated when there is less than a one percent difference in the total votes cast between two candidates for one office.
