HORRY COUNTY -- Horry County's emergency management office will hold a series of town hall meetings to spread the word about changes in evacuation zones for the 2012 Hurricane Season.

The changes this year include three new hurricane evacuation zones, which will incorporate more land mass and will require additional people living in those areas to leave during certain hurricanes based on surge inundation instead of category of storm.

It will be important for every resident to know if they live in a new hurricane evacuation zone and what to do when asked to leave. You can see the new information here or you can call Horry County Emergency Management at (843) 915-5150.

To Know Your Zone and to learn more about hurricane planning, Horry County Emergency Management asks that you attend one of the town hall meetings listed below.
