A security guard found a 5-year-old boy alone on the Springmaid Pier Thursday afternoon.

The boy told Horry County police his mother's name was Tracey and his father's name was Steven, but he didn't have much more information.

Officers looked on Facebook and when the boy saw a picture of his step-mother, he pointed at it and said 'That's Tracey'. He told police Tracey was his new mom because she just married his dad. Her Facebook page backed up that information.

Based on her Facebook page, police called hotels looking for guests with name Tracey. They found the family at Compass Cove Resort.

When police approached the father, he said he had just realized his 5-year-old was missing. It was about six hours after the boy was found on the pier.

The father, Steven Steinmann, 47, of Kingsport, TN, told police he has eleven kids and thought they had all left the pier together.

Police charged him with Child Neglect.
